This nationally recognised and dynamic program offers a vast range of exciting practical skills that enables our graduates to embark on a career in this vibrant industry.

This training provides both professional and fundamental skills and knowledge for photographic events such as weddings, formals, make-up counter demonstrations or photographic shoots including:

- Airbrushed make-up
- Eyelash extensions
- Cosmetic tanning services

Graduates will gain confidence in selecting and applying products to achieve a make-up design that reflects fabulous make-up results for any situation.

The program also develops skills in waxing hair removal and eyelash and eyebrow shaping and tinting.

While learning in this course, you will be required to work closely with, and on, your fellow students to practice, experience and refine new skills.

  • Job Opportunities

    Make-up artist / consultant across the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries including film, television, photographic, theatrical and retail cosmetic counters.

  • Teaching Methods and Assessment

    This program is delivered using a variety of teaching methods including face-to-face lecture style or smaller tutorial groups, learning in simulated beauty salons and on-line learning through e-Learn.

    Predominantly students will be assessed through a formal observation checklist according to the required skills and knowledge of the subject within a salon environment on a client. The times and dates can often be negotiated between yourself and the teacher, however assessments are identified and scheduled within a time range at the beginning of each subject. Assessment outcomes are based on competency. You will generally have a small amount of theory based assessment which will normally be in an online quiz format or on the Client Consultation Sheet.

  • Pathways to Further Study

    Students who successfully complete the Certificate III in Beauty Therapy can go onto study the Certificate IV and Diploma of Beauty Therapy. Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Beauty Therapy and gain entry into Torrens University (Melbourne) will receive 80 credit points (1 year) towards the Bachelor of Health Science (Aesthetics).
