CIT’s English programs allow international students to study English from elementary through to advanced levels. Our qualified, experienced teachers will help build your confidence and ability to use English for work, study or in the community.
Students are placed into programs according to their current level of English. This is assessed upon arrival in the English Language Centre, or alternatively through other English test results. Hsin–Fang, Liu | Taiwan | Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English
“I think that CIT is a great choice for people to study English. With only 12 or so people in the class you can learn more and teachers can see what your weaknesses are, as well as what you are already good at. I think that it’s a great program for anyone who really wants to improve their English abilities.
The environment here is great. There is a restaurant, canteen and a stationery shop. Everything that you need is here. You don’t have to go out and look for anything. People are nice to you and the coffee is really good!
There are lots of people from different countries that I have met and I have learned lots about other cultures, a lot of things surprised me! I find I’m not just learning English, I also learn some of the languages of people I’ve met here.”
Syoo Hun Sim | South Korea | ACT Year 12
“I chose my course because I want a career in medicine and to be guided in preparing for university. The campus is surrounded by parks and nature, which I like. I love my communication class where I improve on my writing skills, and I would definitely say that CIT is a good place to learn about Australian culture.
Canberra is similar to where I come from in Korea. As cities go it’s on the smaller side but it has everything you need close by. If I need to go anywhere else there are plenty of buses!
My favourite thing about studying here is the mix of people you meet, I have met lots of new people and made some good friends.”
