Overview

Successful administration is the backbone of businesses large and small. CIT’s Business Administration courses provide thorough, practical training designed to prepare you for a range of roles in the public or private business sectors.

You will learn practical business and computing skills in an exciting Simulated Business environment, which provides the opportunity to gain essential experience working with other students all over Australia. Although the products and money are virtual, everything else is real! You develop communication skills, network, manage accounts, maintain financial records and organise schedules. You will also advance your skills in Word, Excel, Access and MYOB.

As you advance to Certificate IV-level study, you will develop your skills in current industry software packages, customer service and team skills, with computing subjects increasing in complexity - requiring and providing advanced skills.

Those who progress to the Diploma will learn to manage people within an office environment. You will improve your job opportunities with an industry work experience placement, as well as gaining management skills in document design, meetings, project work, people performance, planning conferences, reviewing administration systems and personal work priorities.

The Advanced Diploma could equip you to contribute to better business outcomes, developing knowledge and skills to manage change, contribute to marketing plans, manage finances and develop your leadership potential. The qualification also fast-tracks graduates to the Charles Sturt University (CSU) Bachelor of Business, which is jointly delivered and completed at CIT's Reid campus.

Students studying the Diploma of Business will undertake a 30 hour work placement as part of their studies. This will provide opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in an Australian work setting and applied learning environment.
