I live at Monterey apartments.

Describe your first impressions of this residence.

I’m not going to lie, I was a little sceptic of it at first, but after a few weeks it began to feel like home.

What do you enjoy the most about living at this residence?

The people! It’s great, there’s always someone around to talk to or hangout with.

Tell us a bit about your location. Is it close enough to the CIT Campus you study at?

Is it conveniently located? Are there shopping centres nearby? Etc. Monterey apartment is about a 5-minute walk from CIT Reid, it’s fantastic. Definitely conveniently located, you’re so close to school and to anything you could possible want from a store, not to mention a 5-minute walk from any bar you would want to go to.

About Canberra

Describe your impressions of Canberra.

It’s really similar to where I come from. Feels like home, except there’s parrots flying around.

How do you get around? Is the transport in your area adequate?

I walk. Yeah I think it is, I’ve taken the bus once, and I’ve taken the Greyhound Bus Service to Sydney. It’s all very close to where I live.

Advice for Prospective Students

What would you say to other international students who were thinking about living at your residence?

DO IT! It is a great experience. The people you meet are awesome, and when you’re from another country you want to have those people around.

Do you have any other advice for them in regards to accommodation in Canberra?

Come in with an open mind, and don’t close yourself off. You want to get to know as many people as you can.
