CIT’s Horticulture facility was officially opened in November 2009. It is state of the art and cost $14.4 million (AUD). This leading edge training facilities allows for a holistic approach to the development of buildings and garden infrastructure, including sound environmental practices. More contemporary and relevant plant materials in new gardens at CIT Bruce will assist in establishing new benchmarks for industry practice. Efficient water management, water efficient plantings and recycling processes have expanded CIT’s synergies with emerging industries and enhanced students’ learning experience.
December 2010 saw the opening of another environmental initiative - the Sustainable Skills Training Hub, a $9.3 million facility. This innovative facility will enable support of additional trainees and apprentices in accredited science, engineering, building and construction programs. Importantly, the building design allows sufficient flexibility to adapt to new and emerging green technologies as they become available.
CIT Bruce is home to the popular CIT Health Sciences Student Clinics. The Massage clinic is available to students and the general public at great value. All treatments are provided by students and supervised by a qualified health professional in a caring environment. Students develop thorough assessments and offer the best treatment options available.
CIT Fit & Well is a fully student-run fitness centre which provides Sport and Fitness students with the opportunity to gain practical industry experience. The gym is open to staff, students and the general public providing quality fitness centre facilities at a subsidised price for members. There is plenty of equipment, a modern design and a range of group exercise classes held daily.
The International Services Unit (ISU) office is located at CIT Bruce in C Block, on the 1st floor in Room 102. The ISU is staffed by personnel who are well equipped to assist students with any questions, problems or issues that they may have or experience while studying at CIT, such as stress, fitting in and adjusting to their new lifestyle. The ISU office staff are able to access services to help students and they can also provide information about additional support services that are available. The ISU Finance Office and the CIT Accommodation Office are also located at ISU. Student Advisors from the ISU visit CIT Reid and CIT Woden regularly.
Childcare services are available at CIT Bruce. Students who are studying at CIT can use the Childcare Centre service which provides professional care for children up to school age. You must register your interest as soon as possible as places are limited.
